Started in 1946, the Florence Civic & Business Association is a non-profit organization focused on promoting civic, business, and social engagement in the village of Florence. We are run solely by a group of dedicated volunteers, and we re-invest 100% of our revenues back into the local community in the following ways: 

1.We purchase and maintain all of the seasonal decor in Florence village, most notably the Holiday Lights.

2.We organize, produce, and promote various free-to-attend events in Florence throughout the year, including our 15-week Summer Concert Series held every Thursday, the annual Florence Flea Market in October, and the Florence Chicken BBQ in September.

3.We organize, produce, and promote various parades throughout the year, including the Rag Shag Parade on Halloween, the Florence Holiday Parade after Thanksgiving, and our all-new Tractor Parade held around New Year’s. The Rag Shag is one of the largest, longest running, and well-attended parades of its kind in New England.

4.We also operate and maintain the Florence Civic Center, a historic building that is home to a trove of Florence artifacts and keepsakes. The Civic Center has a 90-person event space available for rent to the public. It is also utilized for the Florence Farmer’s Market every Wednesday in the Summer and for various youth activities and local clubs/organizations.
